You might want to try PCLinuxOS.
It blows Ubuntu out of the water, assuming you like kde that is.
Mepis is another fine version.

IOW there are much better versions than Ubuntu IMHO.

He can hardly type, let alone figure out what an Operating System does. He
is just gimping along, lost, trying to figure out which OS to use. What is
really funny is about a week or so ago, he was telling everyone how
wonderful Windows 2008 Server was as a replacement for Vista on the desktop.
Pretty stupid if you ask me.

IOW there are much better OS's than Linux/Ubuntu.
