| Blue Tooth USB Adapter Hi Guys and Gals I just picked up a IOGEAR USB Adapter , model ,GBU221WM at Walmart. I went to the home site and got Vista software for it. The program apears to install right , but when I get done installing it , windows vista wants to install 3 different drivers for it. In device manager they are called other devices , (3 times). Windows canot find drivers anywhere on my pc or the net. I don't know what they are fore,so I can't look either. It is something on the USB adapter that I plug in. Anyone come across this to ? thanks. Carl G |

| Re: Blue Tooth USB Adapter no but try this fix to see if it repairs your problem This solution has worked for some people with problematic USB devices: Locate the file INFCACHE.1 in C:\Windows\inf Right click on the INFCACHE.1 file, select Properties >Security > Edit, and give your account full control. Delete INFCACHE.1, or rename it to INFCACHE.1.BAK or temporarily move to your desktop. REBOOT -- Jonathan Perreault Forget Do Not Undermine Windows's Work, Or It'll Undermine You As A User. | Re: Blue Tooth USB Adapter Hi jonathan Well I think that did the trick , got it installed. Now I got to figure out how to use it. What I want to do is copy or backup my address in my phone , which is recognized by the pc. Do I need 3rd party software to do this or is bluetooth supposed to do this ? As you can tell I am totally lost here. | Re: Blue Tooth USB Adapter Hi jonathan Well Device manager says I have Broadcom Bluetooth 2.0 EDR USB Dongle, And under it it says Microsoft Bluetooth Enumerator. | Re: Blue Tooth USB Adapter you are correct you are currently using the windows program,my question is when you bought your bluetooth did you have any cd come with it, if not if you can return it i would and would look for a belkin bluetooth, the one i have is able to transmit up to 330 feet, and the software comes with it, if you can't return i suggest doing what i said before like looking on the web whether it is from the site of the company of your adaptor, or other sites to see if they offer the features you want for your adaptor. -- Jonathan Perreault Personnal Advice To You: #1: Do Not Undermine Windows's Work, Or It'll Undermine You As A User. #2: Torture Windows (Any) Now Before It Tortures You Best Comments From Users: No Matter The Problem Even With Linux, It's Microsoft's And Windows's Faults A common mistake that people make when trying to design something completely foolproof is to underestimate the ingenuity of complete fools. | Re: Blue Tooth USB Adapter Hi Jon Well I got so dam dicusted with it and vista I uninstalled it. I have it on XP and it works right except I don't get to copy my address book from my phone. I can do photos and videos if I want but don't do that stuff. Kinda looks like maybe the phone don't have that capability. | Re: Blue Tooth USB Adapter wait i think i'm not getting it right, you are using your program not windows program, and you can't on vista but can on xp? is that right? one thing that would tell you if you can do it whether with vista or xp is in the phone manuel, on my phone when i go to phone book i know that i can send it to my pc, and i can also use my program to send address book to the phone, i would try again, by the way like i said you can send me a screen shot of what you are seeing or if you wish you could use windows remote assistance so that i can take a lot my self and tell you if you could or not. that is your decision, i feel compeled to tell you though that using that software i would be able to see your screen live, and with your permission i could also take control of your pc, but just so your worried about safety, it's really easy to instantly remove permision of the computer and i can't send any files at least not without you accepting. i'm sure you are feeling uncorfortable, but just so you know this is my field and if you willing to trust me i could help you even more. your choice -- Jonathan Perreault Personnal Advice To You: #1: Do Not Undermine Windows's Work, Or It'll Undermine You As A User.
