Vista slow boot time

I am having an issue with my Vista Ultimate laptop booting up. The
problem is that it takes 20-30 mins. It is in a domain environment. I
have updated the bios. It gets to the "Please wait..." part in booting
up and just takes for ever. We have messed with group policies and
all of that fun stuff and still nothing. If anybody has or had this
problem that knows something it would be much appriciated.

Thank you

Did the laptop come with Vista preinstalled? If not, was the upgrade a
clean install or did you install over an XP setup?

Tux,

You should talk to your administrator about a couple of things. It has
been my experience that number 1 thing that causes your laptop to boot
slowly is networking. Specifially have your admin check

1: AD integrated DNS Servers
2: Local IP config
3: local firewalls that are too restrictive and limit DNS traffic.

While this is not the definitive only answer, it's a great place to
start....
