Are you so convinced that you are right, and that everyone who likes Vista are stupid and wrong? I must admit I have seen people like you in newsgroups from time to time, but it's been a while now. It amazes me every time it hapens. I wish I was so sure about things as you are. I learnt quite early in life that there is no black and white, no objective right and wrong, but people like you seem to never be able to come to terms with that, It kinda reminds me of my son a couple of years ago. He is now 8 years old. Thers is no "fanboy" plot going on in here. There's people who likes Windows Vista for one reason or the other, and there's people who dislikes it for many different reasons. It's nothing personal in that, but for you it seems like it is. Mellow out and enjoy the parts that works. I mean you are able to see the pretty Aero look between all the BSOD's, aren't you? :) It's kinda cool, but I may have to dig up my kill file again. I haven't used that since last millenium! :) Don't bother to respond if you want me to see it. I won't. //ceed |

| Re: Is there a Vista forum with more traffic than this one? You do need to ask well thought out questions that can be answered. On this site, many of us can't waste the time with questions that require pulling information out of the poster. Some posters would take 10+ back and forth responses to even know what could help. Not practical with this many problems in this group "David" <david@invalid.com> wrote in message news:vIidnWIV3tSlWEHbnZ2dnUVZ_jCdnZ2d@comcast.com. .. > DP wrote: >> Now that you've got our attention, how about asking your questions again? >> >> > LOL! Ever read your own moronic, screaming and yelling posts? Your technical skills are on a par with Frank's. Then, unlike you, he's one very capable person, technically speaking. Zero. That's you. Ever get that one little Vista upgrade install to run correctly? Proly not, seeing as how you're mr computer expert and mr genius all rolled up into one big drunken ball of sh*t...lol! Frank |

In other words, jerks like you Frank. > >Are you so convinced that you are right, and that everyone who >> likes Vista are stupid and wrong? > >It's his only defensive mechanism against his own ineptitude and >incompetence. Sure Frank, like you being the idiot we all know you are trying to pass yourself off as some "engineer" "building" hardware when you later were forced to admit all you actually did was replace ONE capacitor on ONE circuit board. That finished you up Frank. Whatever shed of creditability you might of clung to with a few really clueless newbies or village idiots that didn't know what an lummox clod you really are now too see what a doofus you are after your admission once you painted yourself into a corner. > >I must admit I have seen people like >> you in newsgroups from time to time, but it's been a while now. I'll take usenet and filters over web fora full of friendly people because they often turn unfriendly if they're disagreed with. The power invariably corrupts. Good luck though. |

That happened to me months ago, and I have known the solution ever since. As well as the desktop.ini files to tell the folders what icon to use, the folders should be set to read-only. The answer was given by Ramesh and Keith Miller, two knowledgeable MPVs. http://groups.google.co.uk/group/mic...5fe50d7e72e8d9 ss. |

No, that didn't work for me. I was doing the desktop.ini thing, but it kept going back to generic icons after a couple of reboots. I still do not know why it happened, and how to get the icons to stick since I ended up with creating a new account. I have not had problems since. -- //ceed |

So that would make Vista haters, like yourself, only capable of truth, compliments, and reticence? I - think - not. I also think that there really are no "Vista lovers," although I do think there are "Vista haters." Even the most pro Vista posters in this ng would, at the very least, admit Vista is far from perfect. Since you only post hit-and-run anti-Vista, anti-MS screeds in here, without having to defend the deficiencies of your beloved Ubuntu, I have no respect for your posting methodology in this ng. That said, I'm going to take a break from responding to your trolling posts. As someone else pointed out, that makes me as guilty as you for disrupting the ng. And so... I apologise to all "regular folks" if I have disrupted your experience in this ng by taking part in these senseless threads. My bad. Lang |
