Well, truth is... you were far less insulting than many of the regular
Anti-Vista, Anti-MS crowd that hang here just to sow FUD and promote their
personal agendas.

Heaven knows when one is experiencing a problem with their PC, whether it be
OS, hardware, or software related (and to those obsessive geeks: yes, I know
OS's are software..), then it's easy for one to become frustrated and
perhaps a tad brusque when responding. Thass OK in the long run. (And, yes,
I meant to type "thass.")

I admire your quick acknowledgement.

I see that this thread has continued and you've gotten further suggestions.
I hope your problem gets fixed and that you post the high level points of
what fixed it. (I.e., "rebuilding the wmi repository fixed my problem"...
not how to rebuild the wmi repository...)

I haven't gotten that WMI message now since the day I posted this here so I
guess I'll let it go and if it starts up again I'll try some things. Thanks
for everyones help.

i also have wmi popping up saying that wmi provider has stopped working and
was closed. What does this mean ? I click on close to remove it from the
screen.
