weird problem

I'm having a weird problem that I can't solve. When I click to go into my
control panel and click the sound icon. I then click on the icon to access my
microphone but the window freezes up and I can only close it by going into
the task manager. I really need to turn my microphone on. is there anything I
can do?

Re: weird problem

With the Mic plugged in go into Device Manager and remove it
(look in sounds) and the rest of the sound card. Reboot, be
prepared re-install your audio drivers.... good time to go look
for the latest drivers before you do this. When your reboot
the sound card and rest will be re-installed.
