| Search fails to find divx and flv files... even after i rebuilt the index many days ago. the only way I can find divx and flv files using search is to go to advanced and choose "Include non-indexed, hidden, and system files...". Otherwise the only divx files search finds are the shortcuts in recent documents, but not the actual movie files. same thing for the flv files. This lack of search reliability makes me leery of using Explorer's Search feature in any mode but advanced, "include non-indexed..." mode. that sucks, as that's very laborious to get to that screen and choose that option every time i want to find a file. anyone have any ideas why divx and flv files are not found, while jpgs, docs, xls files seem to be located by search without issue? i had been thinking its due to the size of the files, but one of the flv files not found is less than 500k, so size is NOT the issue after all. Search also shows files that have been deleted...as zero byte files...and it doesn't show them in the recycle bin, but rather as them being in the directory they formerly resided in. Another aggravating "feature" of Search. Dave |
