| Cant Activate in any ways. I am using a real version of Windows Vista Home Premium (not OEM) Basically, its been past my 30 days, and I need to activiate windows. I click on "Activate Windows online now" and I get a User Account Control error saying "User Account Control (UAC) has failed to authenticate the user The error code is 0x800040002 Description: No such interface supported." So as suggested by many other post on this site, I clicked on "Use the automated phone system". Again, I am encountered with the same problem. Finally, I tried to "acess your computer with reducted functionality" and I get pop up saying "windows cannot find ....://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/?LinkId=50888 ............................... Make sure you typed the name correctly, and then try again." Basically, there is not one thing I could press..... Any suggestions? I am clearly connected to eht internet... but theres not one way, they would like me activate. |

Got better things to do with your time than jump through the flawed and ineffective "anti piracy" programs that Redmond thinks they have a right to put you through? If so, check out Open Source where there is not activation or becoming genuine nonsense. Check it out at www.ubuntu.com/ It's free and they will even pay the postage to send you a Live CD. -- Alias To email me, remove shoes |

| RE: Cant Activate in any ways. You can get started with phone activation by typing "slui.exe 4" (w/o the quotes) in the Start Search box in the Start Menu and pressing Enter. The phone activation process takes about 6 minutes. -- Carey Frisch Microsoft MVP Windows - Shell/User Microsoft Community Newsgroups news://msnews.microsoft.com/ "VistaMad" wrote: > I am using a real version of Windows Vista Home Premium (not OEM) > > Basically, its been past my 30 days, and I need to activiate windows. > > I click on "Activate Windows online now" and I get a User Account Control > error saying "User Account Control (UAC) has failed to authenticate the user > The error code is 0x800040002 Description: No such interface supported." > > So as suggested by many other post on this site, I clicked on "Use the > automated phone system".
