Way to choose which updates?

I went through the trouble of installing the lastest drivers from EGVA
for my video card and that night Vista reinstalled Microsofts driver
which has an older timestamp.

How can I prevent this from happening?

Thanks,
Markus

Windows Update usually flags drivers as optional updates that you have to
manually choose to install. To avoid this happening all you need to do is
not choose to install them. Did it appear as a priority update? Look in
you update history.

RE: Way to choose which updates?

Change Windows Update from auto download and install, to notify you when
updates are ready to be downloaded and installed.

Then when you see the list, you can right-click and hide the ones you don't
want.

Add DON'T accept hardware drivers from microsoft.
