| Screensavers ????? Just got a new Dell notebook with Vista Home Premium installed. I can't believe there are only 7 screensavers. Is this true or am I missing some? Also, none of the screensavers work except the Windows Logo. I get the message "The screen saver can't run because it requires a newer video card or one that's compatible with Direct3D" on all the others. This is a brand new Dell notebook. I guess I have 2 questions. How many screensavers does Vista Home Premium come with and why don't the ones I have work. Doesn't make sense that I would need to install a new video card on a brand new machine. Thanks for you help. Bobby |

| RE: Screensavers ????? Bobby, the problem is with Dell. They , Dell and their ilk, have been cutting corners on the manufacturing side. You see some adverts from them for 1Gig of RAM shared with Graphics; what a joke. They had years to prepare for Vista, but they and their suppliers have not bothered, in the hardware and software side, to make compatible hardware and software for Vista. They are more interested in selling a pink, blue or green laptop. By the way, Dell is whinging that they ONLY turned over $60 billion last year. Your warranty is handled by Dell, so ring them and bore it up them! Microsoft only covers full version retail disks warranty. | RE: Screensavers ????? I got a Vaio laptop recently. I went to Control Panel-Personification-Screen Saver and found about 10 screensavers. They all seemed to work. The Pictures(Photos) screensaver at first shows an error but after opening it up, browsing, and choosing a photo file, it works fine. Yeah, there are a lot less screensaver choices with Vista. I don't know why. Maybe they decided to save disc space for all that crapware the manufacturers are using to load-up their machines. oscar "Bobby Z" wrote: > Just got a new Dell notebook with Vista Home Premium installed.
