Speech Recognition Alternates Panel Problem

I just got a new computer and everything with the speech recognition was
going fine until I tried to dictate something. Instead of just writing what
I say the "alternates panel" pops up with a list of suggestions. I can get
programs to open and close fine but I can't dictate without every phrase
being referred to the alternates panel. Can anyone help?

RE: Speech Recognition Alternates Panel Problem

Have you been able to resolve this problem? I have done a pretty complete
search and have not found the answer.

Thanks!

RE: Speech Recognition Alternates Panel Problem

Well I ended up installing Office2007 which is fully compatible with the
speech recognition and also I discovered that when I use Microsoft internet
explorer I don't get the alternatives panel popping up. My computer does
have to be sent in though cause it's kinda on the fritz but we'll see what
happens when it gets back.

RE: Speech Recognition Alternates Panel Problem

I'm checking in here to see if anybody found a solution for this. I'm having
the same problem on my machine. I can go on and on and as soon as I stop
dictating, the alternates panel pops up. Its a real pain.

Thanks,
Matthew
