How do I send or receive Faxes with Vista? I can't find a Fax utility like
in previous versions of Windows....

Only with Business or Ultimate, I don't believe the home versions have it,
only the more expensive ones.

Hi

This is a bit of a ****** nuisance to say the least!

Whereas FAX could be dealt with by my old PC (using Win XP Home), it can't
by my new one (using Win VISTA Home Premium). I had even bought a modem (as
an extra for the new PC) - never imagining that Microsoft would effectively
withdraw the FAX facility.

If anyone could recommend some simple software (maybe a 'freebie') I would
be very grateful.

http://www.snappyfax.com/ Not free, but free for an unrestricted 30 days.
Then $30 if I recall for the non server edition.

I haven't used it myself, but SnappyFax ($30 US at
http://www.snappysoftware.com/snappyfax/) is often recommended.

Personally, I think most people would be better off buying an
inexpensive stand-alone fax machine. I got mine on sale for $20, and
it works fine.
