| Vista giving me trouble making bookmarks I'm using Windows Vista, and its multiple layers of security are preventing me from doing everyday normal things like bookmarking websites in my "Favorites" folder. If I merely want to mark a website as a favorite, Vista lets me do this. However, I have a dozen different folders in my favorites, and I want to save the website's URL in the proper folder. Vista currently won't let me do this. When I try to save a URL in a favroites folder, I get a very vague error message: "Unable to create (name of website): Unspecified Error" Not very helpful, huh? Currently, I have an awkward way of getting around this. I save a website's URL to my general Favorites folder, and then go to "Organize Favorites", and then drag the URL to the proper folder within Favorites. Even this is a headache, because when I do this Vista stops me: "Destination Folder Access Denied: You'll need to provider Administrator Permission to move this folder" I hit "Continue", then Windows Vista gives me another warning: "Windows Needs Your Permission to Continue". Only then will it actually move the URL to the right folder. All this seems excessively frustrating. Any ideas on how I can get reset my system so that it lets me do this without a hassle? There are two accounts on my PC, my wife's and my own. My wife's one may be the admin account. Robert |
