| limewire closes itself I've been using vista ultimate since it was released and I've been using lime wire on it since then too but recently it wont work, ok so when I open it, it comes up with the splash screen as normal then it'll open the normal window for about 2 second then it will close itself. The tray icon is still there until I hover my mouse pointer over it then that disappears too. Any help appreciated Thanks in advance |

System Restore it meant to only restore your settings and registry to a particular point in time but you should make sure your data is well backed as a precaution before using it. Start Menu\Programs\Accessories\System Tools\System Restore. If that fails to resolve it, you can try removing it using Programs and Features in Control Panel and reinstalling it. -- Michael Solomon Backup is a PC user's best friend DTS-L.Org: http://www.dts-l.org/ |

| Re: limewire closes itself Good advice Mike. I would also suggest a virus and spyware scan to eliminate those as possibilites. Also check for limewire software upgrades. Check "Run this program in compatibility mode for WinXP". Also, if you have DEP turned on for all programs and services- add Limewire to the exceptions list. Or, switch DEP to only "essential Windows Programs and services". -Michael |
