| Task Manager will not run I had an unexpected shut down due to a disk error this morning and now when I try to open task manager I get the uninformative message :- taskmgr.exe - Ordinal Not Found The ordinal 345 could not be located in the dynamic link library COMCTL32.dll. Any suggestions on how to correct this problem would be welcome. |

| Re: Task Manager will not run It looks like the file COMCTL32.dll may have become corrupted. I suggest you try running a system scan. Open the Command Prompt (Start//All programs//Acccessories) and type sfc /scannow (note the space after sfc). If the file has been damaged, Windows can repair it. If this doesn't work, try a System Restore. If neither work, just hope a MSVP spots your dilemma. | Re: Task Manager will not run Ed, Thanks for the suggestion, did you mean Accessories/Command Prompt? If so then I get the message 'You must be an administrator running a console session in order to use the sfc utility', which I don't understand. Typing 'sfc /scannow' in Accessories/Run does not do anything, not even tell me that I am doing something wrong. Any further advice would be welcome. Right now I'm on 32 bit as I'm trying to install trial versions of Nero 9 and Roxio 2009. Neither seemed to work properly on my 64 bit system. So I drop down to 32 bit to burn CD or DVD's. I can't find a program that will work on my 64 bit Vista ultimate Hewlett Packard 3 GB 640Gb disk drive system?
