Vista dropping LAN and Wireless connection when system is idle.

I have a client that has a laptop with Vista. Whenever he is in a specific
office he says that his LAN and his Wireless connection lose access to the
internet. (Red X between the Network Icon and the Internet Icon) He says
this doesn't happen anywhere else. This is a simple workgroup network. DSL
Line into DSL Modem\Router, router into Switch, switch into patch panel.
Nothing special. Others in the office using XP pro SP2 do not have this
issue at ALL.

I am having the same problem and the problem is with Vista. I have been
working on this about a month and if you do a search on the internet 'Vista
dropping wireless connection' you will see the problem everywhere. Come on
Microsoft where is the fix.

Re: Vista dropping LAN and Wireless connection when system is idle.

I have the same problem with a linksys WAP 4400N. I have 16 notebooks
connected and intermittently the connection will drop to any of them at
any time, and it can happen to any amount of machines. I find that
disconnecting from the AP and then reconnecting sometimes fixes the
problem but I am at a loss to knowing what the cause is.
