random Vista system crashes

Hi,

I have been running Vista Ulitmate on my new machine for about 3 months. I
am getting random system crashes to the point where on occasion it will not
even boot and i get a series of beeps which my motherboard manual indicates
is "no VGA detected"

I have moved my video card to a new PCI express slot and also reinstalled
windows (about the 4th time I have had to) and it is now booting up again.
BUT I am now getting the random crashes again! I can be doing anything from
trying to play a game to even just surfing the net. Does anyone have any
suggestions as to what the problem might be apart from the video card (NVIDIA
GeForce 8800 GTS) being faulty?

thanks in advance

Ben

Re: random Vista system crashes

Take the computer back for warranty repair or replacement.

Re: random Vista system crashes

I agree with Richard if applicable, if you built it yourself, if you are in
a really humid area, it could be the video card needs reseating
periodically. Probably a defective video card .
