vista ultimate backup failure - shadow copy failure

"Dave Shrader", glad I'm not the only one with problem. My Pavillion a1700n
desktop has Windows Vista Home Premium. I purchased this in March 07. Have
not been able to run backup since May. Experienced recent crash, and had to
have factory erase and recover PC. Am trying for initial Backup, but to no
avail due to lack of space for shadow. I am a virgin with PC's and am totally
confused.

This seems to be becoming an epidemic, I too have the very same problem. I
used to be able to do backups with no problem, then my backup hard drive got
full. I emptied the drive but now it gives me this error. I even added an
external drive but nothing works.

And wheres the help when you need it most. Do we give up on the os facility.

I have a HP pavilion A6010n which crashed also creating the shadow copy
problem upon system restore. When I called for help to they told me to get an
external drive which I did , the same size as my C drive. That was a waste of
money. When I spent a half hour on the phone with tech support they were
clueless about this problem. They told me to get a bigger hard drive or just
copy/paste my files onto the external drive. Then they try to sell me an
extended warranty. For this great support???
