Moderated User Group?

Can someone recommend a moderated Vista discussion group, not
sponsored by Microsoft?

Not quite a "discussion group" but a wonderful forum that is welcoming
to newbies:

Computer Haven belongs to MVP Patty MacDuffie. It covers more than just
Vista.

How do you deal with Patty Frank, you call her a troll, liar, idiot or
drunk? That's how you act here all the time.

Re: Moderated User Group?

Hi David B.--

There are so many I don't know where to start. Simply googling or MSN
searching for Vista groups will find you hundreds if not thousands. Also,
most of the Vista web sites have forums .

I have to say though that given the variety and volume of MSFT groups (there
are OEM system builder groups, and partner groups as well as hundreds of
these groups--i.e. several for Outlook and Word, and Office hdw and software
types for example), for the most part I've been able to either get good
answers to questions or cull these groups for tips. I think you need to
drill them deeper to realize the advantages.

I have a collection of hundreds of groups for Vista. Just google.

These two are pretty high quality:

http://www.pro-networks.org/forum/forum-95.html

Check 'em out.

Good luck,

CH

Now Frankie, come clean, you keep trying to pass yourself off as
"expert" on everything, yet you admit you hang out at what's obviously
a beginner's site. Actions always speak louder than words. You just
hung yourself...again.

I deal with people the way they present themselves...as an example I
deal with you exactly the way you've constantly presented yourself to me
and others in this ng.
In other words, you get what you deserve mr genius.

Re: Moderated User Group?

Lot of responses, however "forum" does not mean "moderated"
At one time Microsoft had moderated groups via TechNet and MSDN - not sure
now.

I sysop on Compuserve, which you no longer have to be a member to use
-- jusst log on with an AIM name and create a password.

There are two Forums dealing with Windows:

Windows Support

http://community.compuserve.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?webtag=ws-winsupport

Windows XP Pro/Server/2000/NT Support

http://community.compuserve.com/n/pfx/forum.aspx?webtag=ws-winprohelp

The first deals with VISTA home and the second with business versions.

There's also plenty of other good stuff in PCHARDWARE and in LAPTOP
COMPUTING.

And being moderated I can assure the a**holes get short shrift and
posts in the wrong sections get moved into the correct ones <g>

Moderated groups spell CENSORSHIP. Try to act adult and just skip
threads or posters the bug you. As simple as that.

Oh I see, little Frankie wants to be judge, jury and executioner.
How typical of a-holes like you.

Before I ever posted a response to one of your mean, hate filled rants,
I read quite a few of them. So I had a reality picture of you and your
personally degrading attitude towards others from the get go.
Now you don't like it when you get the same treatment as you give others.
Go screw yourself you stupid jerk moron idiot.
You deserve all the crap I'm giving and going to keep on giving you.
Live with it!
Loser.
