| Re: Full system back up I would suspect that D: has system files on it. Here is how I managed to do a full system backup. The Master HDD has 3 partitions (C, D and E). C has only the OS, D is where I install all programs and E is used only for backup images. I do have secondary physical HDD, but is not involved in backups. When I do the whole drive backup, I make sure it saved (make sure both C and D drives are selected for imaging) to the E drive. Note that Vista will only save one backup to any partition. Doing this I have never had a problem restoring. Also if you happen to have a usb external drive, Vista will backup and restore using the external drive. Have never tried using a finger drive, but that may work also. One final note, when restoring, Vista does NOT always show the correct location of the image to be restored. This is NOT a problem as long as you have only ONE image on your computer. I have done two image and was never sure which one was being used to restore LOL. Hope some of this is helpful.
