| Curser Disappears This is a problem my mom is having on her new PC, I'm not familiar with it so I shall discribe the problem as best I can. The curser when in Word, Excel etc will disappear when she begins typing. She has turned off the mouse setting that hides the curser when typing. So that setting is not the problem. The curser will continue to be hidden after clicking and moving it around. The curser can only be seen when it passes over a menu but will not be seen on the actual page she is typing on. She is using Windows Vista and Office 2003. Is there a fix for this or does anyone have any ideas what is causing this? I've had this expirence with AutoCAD and found that minimizing and maximizing the window will correct the error. This however have failed to work with my mom's problem. |

Open Control Panel, open Mouse, go to the pointers tab, and change the cursor type she is using. I use the arrow which gives the resting cursor the appearance of an "I" in bold type but try others if that doesn't suit her. Then, go to the Pointer Options tab and place a check next to "Show location of pointer when I press CTRL key," click apply and ok. Any time thereafter that the cursor gets lost, she can find it by pressing the control key -- Michael Solomon Backup is a PC user's best friend DTS-L.Org: http://www.dts-l.org/ |
