| Cannot start control panel I just found the control panel cannot be started. Today I noticed the memory monitor showed 94% of my 1.5G memory are occupied which I believe is not correct since I was not running many programs. But after I restart the computer and try to open control panel, a blank explorer window showed up and closed automatically after a while. I tried a few times, but cannot start control panel at all. Anyone met similar issue before? Please help. |

| RE: Cannot start control panel Actually this is correct because Thanks to the new Microsoft DRM in Vista it runs Trusted Computing DRM programs all the time weather you know it or not. Check this out http://video.google.com/videosearch?q=DRM "yang" wrote: > I just found the control panel cannot be started. > Today I noticed the memory monitor showed 94% of my 1.5G memory are occupied > which I believe is not correct since I was not running many programs. | RE: Cannot start control panel The video is funny. it is crap. But how can I solve the problem? Today, the windows genuine test pop up and tell me this copy of windows is not a genuine copy. But I already activated and pass the test a few months ago. And the genuine test website suggest me to open control panel and remove some programs. It seems I am in a dead end. | RE: Cannot start control panel You want my real advice? Don't pay for Vista in fact return it. If you want a real operating system without these problems you can either go to www.PCLinuxOS.com and try to install it yourself and stop having these stupid problems or you can go to a search engine like dogpile.com and look for Computer Rescue. This guy knows what he is doing and he can help you with all the problems. It's worth it. "yang" wrote: > The video is funny. it is crap. | RE: Cannot start control panel I had the same problem as others have had as well. There is a 'hotfix' available through the Microsoft Knowledge Base. (http://support.microsoft.com/search/?adv=1). In the 'for' field, type in "Control Panel does not open" and it will take you to a list of similar problems encountered. Find the one that matches yours and they will send you the fix by email. jamien59********.com "yang" wrote: > I just found the control panel cannot be started. > Today I noticed the memory monitor showed 94% of my 1.5G memory are occupied > which I believe is not correct since I was not running many programs.
