No login Prompt available!!

Yesturday my laptop was fine I was on it like normal.. it then went to sleep
mode and i tried to turn it back on, but when i did the prompt that asks for
your password to enter windows did not come up. And i've restarted it about
30 checked the battery and everything and still not password prompt!

Does anyone know what is going on and how i can fix it.... by trying to
avoid the restore to original as a last resort!!
I can get into windows by using the "safe mode" but i can not get in normally.

HELP!

Re: No login Prompt available!!

In Control Panel > Power Options, on the right-hand side of the window ,
choose "Require a password on wakeup". After making your selection, save
your changes.

Re: No login Prompt available!!

I don't think that is the problem.. becuase yes it happened when it was on
power save, but i've had it on power save a million times before and never
had a problem.. and now when i turn on and off the computer i can't get past
the the the blue windows loading page where it would have usually asked for
my password.

Any other suggestions?? Thanks so much.

Re: No login Prompt available!!

I see. I thought you were just missing the password prompt after putting
your computer to sleep.

Try, when you start your computer, pressing the F8 button when the BIOS
screen starts to appear. This takes you to Advanced Startup Options
(including Safe Mode). See:
https://windowshelp.microsoft.com/Windows/en-US/Help/f9c50a72-04ec-4088-9fd4-a4f979eef5a71033.mspx

You can try Last Known Good Configuration. If that doesn't work, restart
again, access the Advanced Startup Options, and try Safe Mode. See:

In Safe Mode, you can access System Restore, where you can choose a date
when your computer worked. You can also access System Configuration
(Windows\Start Menu\Programs\Administrative Tools), to disable startup
programs that may be causing the problem. See:
