If you don't remember doing this, you might have have accidently enabled it by mistake. In the "Search Results in Indexed Locations" window, go to Search Tools, Search Options. The Search pane of Folder Options dialogue will appear. Click on the "General" tab. Look at the box entitled "Click items as follows". There are two radio buttons: single-click and double-click to open. Select the "Double-click to open an item" radio button. Press the Apply button. Next time you search, the results should appear normally (no underline) If this doesn't fix the problem, then ... sorry, I have no idea.
