Continuous disk seeking in Visa Business

Hi folks, I have this problem. I installed my brand new Vista Business (I
used to have XP Pro Ent.), and ever since I installed the new Windows, my
disc keeps on going the seeking noise and the HDD LED is up all the time.
Didn't matter if I was actually doing something or the computer is idle, the
situation never changes. Please let me know if you had the same prob or know
how to solve that. Thanks a million. Pave

It's normal for a HDD in a Vista machine to be quite active especially soon
after the initial install. This is mostly the indexing service indexing all
your files/emails etc. and when that is complete the activity will be
greatly reduced but expect that there will always be some degree of
activity. If you go into the Indexing Options in the Control Panel you can
see if it is still indexing the files. It will say "Indexing complete" and
list the number of indexed items.

The disk defragmenter will run when it determines the system is idle. Add
new files, the defragmenter will go to work.
