| Vista forgets start menu settings after every restart Hi! I have a problem that is quite annoying; every time I restart the computer, the programs in the automatically populated list on the left side of the start menu are replaced with the default ones (Windows Media Center, Windows Media Player ...). I remove every one of them and the list populates correctly from programs that I run. But when I restart, all is lost. Is there a setting somewhere to be fiddled with? Also, and assume it is unrelated, I keep getting the blue screen (of death) regarding IRQL "not less or equal". I appreciate your help. - Simsen |

| RE: Vista forgets start menu settings after every restart I found this article (http://www.winhelponline.com/articles/163/1/) on the group "microsoft.public.windows.vista.general". I think it may work because it describes my symptoms perfectly. - S "Simsen" wrote: > Hi! > > I have a problem that is quite annoying; every time I restart the computer, > the programs in the automatically populated list on the left side of the > start menu are replaced with the default ones (Windows Media Center, Windows > Media Player ...). > > I remove every one of them and the list populates correctly from programs > that I run. | Re: Vista forgets start menu settings after every restart I appreciate the effort, Casandra. The setting you mentioned was already set correctly. See my reply to my own post for a possible solution to my problem. Thanks again!
