| Vista Business wont retain my display settings (on multiple display setup) OK....I have a SONY Vaio laptop running Vista Business. It has an NVidia Geforce 7300 (I believe). I also have a dock for the laptop which I use when I am in the office. No matter how many times I set the display the way I want it (which is to configure each screen independently...the laptop screen as well as the DELL flat panel that I have connected via the dock......when I come back each day and connect it to the dock, the video comes up ONLY on the laptop screen....and it doesn't retain the display setting on the external screen. Additionally, I have told Vista how to behave when the lid is closed (selected "do nothing" on battery and in AC power) and that setting won't get saved either. Sure enough, when I close the lid it triggers changes in the settings when I have told it do nothing. Does this have to do with the fact that I am using the NVidia graphics adapter? Any suggestions....it's EXTREMELY annoying. Thanks. jlally@ctmbd.com |
