Windows Movie Maker turned green

After creating several movies with Windows Movie Maker 6.0 on Vista
Ultimate it suddenly only displays my imported videos as green. The
sound is right but the display is completely green. I also tried a
fresh install of Vista Business with the same result.

The videos are MPEG2 encoded with MPEG1 Layer 2 sound recorded via a
Hauppauge TV card (PVR-150) and has not given me any problems before.
The videos show up fine in WIndows Media Player on the PCs and in the
Media Center on my Xbox 360. Importing the videos in Pinnacle Studio 8
also works fine. It's only Movie Maker.

Any clues?

Cheers,
Michael

Re: Windows Movie Maker turned green

Found it: ATI's Catalyst driver 7.5 (7-5_vista32_dd_ccc_enu_46757.exe)
caused the problem. I wish I didn't delete 7.4. I've tried to remove,
re-install and remove the 7.5 driver a couple of times and the problem
comes back when the driver is installed. A bug report is on its way to
ATI...

Cheers,
Michael

Re: Windows Movie Maker turned green

Oh, of course the old drivers are still available at the site. Hadn't
thought of that, thanks! :)
As I'm running 32-bit I clicked my way to
http://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/vista32/previous/common/common-cat74-vista32.html

Not that I've spotted much difference between the drivers Vista pulls
of Windows Update and the Catalyst fra ATI - apart from the Control
Center.

Cheers,
Michael
