How to start a bluetooth connection with paired device?

I have a bluetooth adatter on my laptop which seems to be functioning
normally. I have not installed any driver for this so I assume it is
using the standard MS driver supplied with Vista.
I have searched for nearby BT devices and found and paired with my PDA
(Windows Mobile 5 Phone Edition) using a passkey.
When I look at BT devices in control panel, the PDA shows.

My question is how do I connect to this device not that it is paired?
In XP I used to use the "Bluetooth Places" but I no longer have this
option.

I want to use the PDA as a modem to connect to the internet. I can
see that the paired PDA offers this service and I have set up a
matching dial up connection but this won't work. The BT icon in my
system tray remains white and I know it should turn green once a
connection is active.

Hope someone can help with what seems a basic question.

try
windows mobile device center.
if it does not show in control panel, you will have to install it as a windows feature/

Thanks for your reply, however I want to use the phone as a modem not
sync with it. The device does show in Mobile Device Centre and I can
synchronise via Bluetooth when the connection is initiatied by the
PDA.

What I want to do is dial my ISP using the GPRS phone connection.

Re: How to start a bluetooth connection with paired device?

I think I have sorted this out although I don't find the process very
user friendly or intuitive.

First I have to open Pocket IE on my device and then navigate to a web
page. This then opens the GPRS connection on the device. I am then
able to start dial up networking from my laptop to use this
connection.

Under XP connecting to internet using to dial up networking account
associated with the device modem would automatically start the GPRS
connection on the device - it didn't have to be started manually.

If anyone can clarify if there is an easier way I'd love to hear it!

Stuart
