Moto Q & downloading Windows Media

I have tried to download Windows Media, since Vista does not work with Active
Sync. I keep getting an error. It says that it cannot write to key. I
don't understand the error. I am not sure if my security is to tight on my
computer. The program will download, but won't install. I am not a
technical person, so I am very frustrated.

You'll need to be more specific. Are you saying you are trying to install
Windows Media Center on your computer. If yes, it can only be installed on
a Media Center PC as it requires specific hardware. If you have a Vista
Media Center PC and you are trying to install an XP Media Center over your
current OS, you can't do that. This would require a clean install that
probably wouldn't work for you anyway as XP Media Center would likely be
looking for a different configuration. Also, this Media Center software is
provided by the OEM, original equipment manufacturer and is essentially tied
to the original system on which it was installed.

If the above doesn't apply to you, I apologize but you would need to clarify
precisely what it is you are trying to do.

Re: Moto Q & downloading Windows Media

Hi,

The Moto Q came with the Active Sync software. Since I have a new
computer, it does not have XP. When I looked on Microsoft's website
regarding the Moto Q, they said you just have to download Windows Mobile. I
do have Windows Media, I met Windows Mobile. I am sorry.

Okay, what happens when you try to install Windows Mobile Sync Center, any
error messages?

If it is a security issue, you can try temporarily turning off UAC. Open
Control Panel, go to User Accounts, click "Turn User Account Control" on or
off and then temporarily turn it off and see if you can get it installed.

Re: Moto Q & downloading Windows Media

It is still not working. Here is my error message.

Could not write value ClSID to key \SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Internet
Explorer\Extensions\{2EAF5BB1-070F-11D-9307-00C04FAE2D4F}. Verify that you
have sufficient access to that key, or contact your support personnel.

I don't know what it means.
