Transfer a screensaver from other laptop

My husband has a laptop with Vista, and I just bought one last week. His
machine has a screensaver that mine does not have.

Is there a way to copy his screensaver file and get it to my machine?

Re: Transfer a screensaver from other laptop

Are the two laptops running different versions of Vista?

RE: Transfer a screensaver from other laptop

I noticed after I sent my question that he has XP. We only purchased our
nearly identical laptops within months of each other...so I assumed he had
Vista. I was wrong.

I guess I need to know where his screensaver files are located. I looked up
a discussion on this board and someone said to look in the windows/system32
folder, but there were so many files.

Once I get the file, then where do I save it on my hard drive?

I didn't think it'd be this difficult. I just like his Aquarium
screensaver.....and wanted it on my laptop.

Thank you!!!

Re: Transfer a screensaver from other laptop

Have you tried http://www.elefun-desktops.com? It's a program and not a file
but it has great 3D wallpaper and screensaver with At The Depth. It works
well with my Vista HP and the animated aquarium with sounds is nice. Hope
you like it.

RE: Transfer a screensaver from other laptop

files for screensavers usually have a .scr extension. Use the detail view in
the
\system32 folder and look for it that way

Thank you
