COM Surrogate Stopped Working?

Hi! Everything I try to run Slideshow, no matter where I try to run it from
(the Pictures folder, the Windows Gallery, etc), I get this error "COM
Surrogate has stopped working." There's no solution that comes back for it.
Any ideas what might be wrong? I've got a ton of pictures and I'd like to
use the Slideshow feature. TIA

Kristy

There is no "bump" on Usenet. See if this article - which has several
fixes for the "COM Surrogate" error - helps:

Re: COM Surrogate Stopped Working?

Malke, that's a great site! Thanks, I'll see if something there works and
check on a couple other errors I've come across while I'm at it.

Thanks again,
Kristy

Re: COM Surrogate Stopped Working? (Fixed)

Did two things - one of which fixed the problem. Followed the directions on
Malke's site to turn off Data Execution Prevention on dllhost (the COM
surrogate). Also, once again checked problem reports and found an
incompatability with Axis Media Control, so I uninstalled it and now I have
a lovely slideshow! Thanks again, Malke!

Well, it isn't *my* site but I'm glad the link helped you. :-) Thanks
for taking the time to post back.
