start up registry

I have to software programs that wont start automaticaly when windows starts
up? In both programs I checked the box that says auto start when windows
starts up. But vista will not start them. I ran both programs in xp and
they started up there. Is there a way to tell vista to start those programs
automaticly?

Re: start up registry

Perhaps right-click on each program, and Run as Administrator. Then toggle
the options to autostart the programs, in the programs' options.

If it's not some function of the program, but the program itself that you
want to start at launch, you could also try putting a shortcut to the
program in the Startup folder of Start Menu > All Programs, but I'd try the
first suggestion first.

Re: start up registry

I tried your suggestion of running as the administrator, and for one of the
programs it worked. The other when I boot up the program appears down in the
task bar but does not open fully. A box titled no disk with a message in it
that says Exception Processing Message with a ton of numbers and letters
following it. It gives 3 options cancle, continue, and I think the last was
ignore. I tried putting that softwares cd in at start up and it was the
same. No matter which option I chose the software will run, but only after I
choose one. Any Ideas?
