| Synch contact info from Smartphone to windows contacts u would think vista should be able to synch the contact info from my device into the windows contacts, but I can't seem to make it work. When I run the synch tool all goes well and it says it synched. But no contact information was ever added to window contacts. Granted, I don't have Outlook just the default windows mail installed, perhaps the problem. But it would seem, that windows contacts should be ablt to be synched wthout outlook installed. Any help much appreciated. I have of course made sure that contacts should be synched in the property settings. |

| Re: Synch contact info from Smartphone to windows contacts Synching such information can only (as it has always been) be achieved with the appropriate version of Outlook installed and functioning. Windows Mail (aka Outlook Express) and other native Windows applications are ignored (with the exception of perhaps Media Player). You may not like it, and you may want it otherwise, but this has how it has always been with synching contacts, mail, notes, etc. -- Maxwell Bluemeanie ---- "AW" <AW@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:AD59675C-A83D-47EB-8938-08786BB8A9D3@microsoft.com...[color=blue] >u would think vista should be able to synch the contact info from my device > into the windows contacts, but I can't seem to make it work. | Re: Synch contact info from Smartphone to windows contacts Thanks for answer. I figured as much. I just wish MS product pages would be a little more forthright about something as pivital as synch for contacts needing outlook. If you are using some other program for those functions, you will need to find a third party sync utility. Chuppara (sp?) works will with Palm devices, Finchsync works with Thunderbird.
