The framers of the Constitution knew only too well what the church had done to the government of Europe, and did not want the same thing to happen in the US. Watch Fox News much? A graduate of Bob Jones "University" or one of the other Evangelical Christian Pseudoschools? Creationism is junk science. Evangelical Christianity is junk religion. "Don't know about that. Have you ever disagreed with a Liberal's philosophies? Not many will tolerate disagreement with their views." Have you seen what happens when you disagree with a Conservative like Rush Limberger or Bill O'Wrongly? They resort to name calling, like you dumbASS! "Liberalism is generally a pursuit of the young, and I assume that is the case here." Yet again WRONG!! 63yo here. "the conservative value system lines up more closely to my own." Like conservative values of stealing elections, starting a war based on lies, moving more and more people into poverty each year, etc.? |

Everyone thinks the other side is so immoral. Which one wanted all the votes counted? Bush or Gore? If you honestly look at it neither one did. Bush wanted to stop Gore from recounting and Gore only wanted the votes counted in 2 counties where he thought he would win. |

State-sponsored persecutions and religious wars had long been commonplace under the church-dominated governments of Europe. There were strong religious differences even among the 13 Colonies and it was feared that allowing each to introduce their particular religion into government, even just locally, would inevitably lead to divisive religious wars between the states that would fracture the union and, just incidentally, also get a whole lot of good people killed. |
