Need Vista driver update for SIS 650_651_M650_M652_740

I have 17 inch widescreen LCD monitor, but control panel only gives me two
choices for screen display and 1280 x 1024 is not one of them. I have a Sony
Vaio PCV W600G - I know it is older, but I bought it loaded and it still
meets all the Vista specs except the screen display has shrunk to less than
15 inches.

Since you apparently upgraded your machine to Vista, did you also go to
Sony's site for Vista drivers for your specific model machine? If not,
you need to do so. If your video card is onboard, then you will want the
Sony drivers. If your video card is a separate standard video card, then
you will want to get drivers from the card mftr. such as ATI or Nvidia.

Going to Sony was the first thing I did - no driver available for Vista; the
manufacturer is SIS - they've updated drivers for newer video cards, but not
for my model. Going to the manufacturer was the second thing I did. I guess
manufacturers want you to throw out anything more than three years old and
buy new.

Telling us that information in your first post would have been better.
If there are no Vista drivers, there are no Vista drivers. You can
replace the card with an inexpensive supported video card - research it
first. The SIS isn't a gaming card so whatever you replace it with will
be probably better and will not cost much.
