Permission to perform action

I am trying to delete a couple of folders from my
D backup drive whilst logged on as administrator
but am denied by a message...
"You need permission to perform this action"

Any ideas?

Re: Permission to perform action

Hello,

You get this message when not even administrators are allowed to
modify the file(s) in question.

This happens in Vista for sensitive operating system files, and in
some circumstances, when accessing files created from a different
installation of Windows.

You need to use the security tab on the folder to give yourself
permission.

RE: Permission to perform action

I had that happen once as well. I rebooted and it seemed to fix it. Another
possibility is that you may have to take ownership. Go to
properties/Security, click Advanced and Owner. If you are not the owner, you
should be able to take ownership and delete.

Hope that helps!

Are backups liable to be regarded as sensitive?
(That would be a surprise to me.)
