Re: Windows mail problem

In Tools > Accounts, make sure that you have written the Outgoing Mail
(SMTP) information correctly for your account's Properties, on the Servers
tab. It may contain a typing error, for example "smpt.central.cox.net",
instead of the correct "smtp.central.cox.net".

You may want to check out the vista.mail newsgroup.

You have either entered the wrong outgoing/smtp server,
or you may have a very common and quite annoying WinMail
problem where emails get stuck in the outbox. I dumped
that pathetic piece of software over a month ago. I don't
remember the procedure for fixing the stuck email problem.
But this little program(free) from Steve Cochran will
fix that. It has an option to clear the outbox.

WMUtil is a small utility to allow users to compact and repair the Windows Mail database in
Windows Vista.

If Windows Mail gets on your nerves too much,
try Thunderbird. http://www.mozilla.com/en-US/thunderbird/
