| 64 bit vista? I have read some threads in this group. It seems that when you guys buy vista, it comes with both 32 and 64 bit version vista. I have bought a preloaded vista laptop. Do you think the preloaded version has the 64bit ready for update as well? Thanks |

If you have another version you have to order it from Microsoft for the cost of shipping. If your OS is an OEM version then you have to buy 32bit and 64bit seperately. Yours is probably OEM if it was pre-loaded so you don't get 64bit for free, you either go buy 64bit OEM or buy 32bit Retail and order 64bit from Microsoft. Or you could get Ultimate and get both. Any way you look at it it is going to cost you money so don't bother. 64bit is only a benefit if you want/need a PC with more than 4gb of ram. There is no reason for most people to need 64bit at all at this point of the game. |
