Screen capture on 2nd monitor

This isn't limited to Vista, it's just Vista that I am using to do it.

How does one go about taking a screen capture of a 2nd monitor's screen ? In
this case I have resource monitor running and I'd like to capture what it
says. The usual print screen and Fraps only takes a snapshot of the 1st
monitor.

Is this going to require a fancy dancy screen grabber program ? If so, is
there a freebie version or will I need to drop some fat dough to get one
that works ?

Thanks

Did you try the Snipping tool in Start/Accessories?

Re: Screen capture on 2nd monitor

I might have to make that work, but I was hoping for something that I could
hit a keystroke and get a snapshot. I'm running a video game in one window
and so breaking out to do a snippet is a bit hard, but if it's the only
option I'll have to make do.

Thanks

Re: Screen capture on 2nd monitor

Does Alt-PrtScr capture window when it's active on screen 2?

I don't really understand what you mean by "This isn't limited to
Vista, it's just Vista that I am using to do it." But in Vista ...

....use the Snipping Tool, type snipping in Help & Support (offline)
if you don't know how to access it.

Re: Screen capture on 2nd monitor

Basically, I meant I could have posted this question in the Windows XP
forums as well. Since it's not a Vista problem, it's more of a general
question.

As I posted above, the problem with Snipping tool is that I'm running a
video game and I'm trying to capture the resources used and so forth while
in the game. Thus the snipping tool isn't ideal, since I'd like to be able
to capture the screen without breaking out of the game, mainly because when
I break from the game, it drops the CPU usage to 1% instead of the 50-70%
it's using at the time.

I was hoping Hypersnap was going towork better, but it requires me to break
from the game as well, and it tends to minimize my game window (on monitor
1) and that seems to lead to alot of blinking screens, before it returns to
normal.
