Home licences

I have just purchased a laptop with a Vista upgrade letter. Will I need to
additional copies of Vista to upgrade my existing desktop system?

Re: Home licences

Yes you will need to purchase an upgrade package to upgrade your desktop
from XP to Vista. But before considering buy the upgrade for your desktop it
is wise to make sure that Vista will work on your desktop. For a
compatibility check click on this link to my website:
http://vistasupport.mvps.org/windows...de_advisor.htm

You can then click on the link for Microsoft's Vista Upgrade Advisor or
Touchstone's Vista readiness check.

And even then, I'd recommend a pessimistic approach in interpreting
the outcome of the upgrade advisor.

If your existing desktop is capable of running Vista, that doesn't
mean it will run smooth on it. If your system just performs
adequately instead of blazingly fast under XP, stick to XP.
