| Re: Restoring to before files and transfer point? Not unless the pre File Transfer files were backed up to an image or backup file. System Restore is what it is..and not perfect....a short term resource dependent upon design intent and/or available space for system file restoration. Knowing this, it might be a good time to investigate image software that allows restoration of the entire drive and/or files, folders. Both Acronis(True Image 10) and Symantec(Ghost 12) offer this capability. ...winston "RogerSlowly" <RogerSlowly@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:1CFC9CA3-3BA6-47FF-AAA0-20C94AB13510@microsoft.com... : Hi, : : I got a new laptop, running Vista basic and after i transfered all my files : and settings the system and some of my programmes have become unstable? : : i want to turn the clock back in system restore, but there are oly a few : days worth and not the ones up to or just after the transfer : : any ideas? : : Thank you |

Is that what you have, RAM wise? If so... upgrade to 1GB RAM. 512MB RAM is insuffient. Yeah, sux that that's how systems are being sold... and... not saying upgrading to 1GB RAM will fix your problems, but 512MB RAM is really, and I do mean really, not sufficient. Speakng from personal experience on that front... Good luck, Lang |
