| Re: Vista 64 Unactivated itself I will agree that in this case, Microsoft didn't do a very good job of testing that update before releasing it. That or it's a rare bug that only a small percentage of people are getting. Since MVP Richard Urban can reproduce the problem at will, hopefully a update or other fix will be made, assuming he can get Microsoft to pay attention. The re-activation part I don't have a problem with, The part where it tells me it's already activated, but not Genuine is annoying and I do have a problem with it. In my case, the Activation phone support couldn't help me, as they were telling me to go to an option that didn't exist. IBM/lenovo was the last major OEM I could call for support and still get connected to someone in the states. Now with the layoffs, the last bastion of hope for tech jobs not being outsourced is gone. When I call HP support, I get someone in China. [color=blue] > > > "Dale M. | Re: Vista 64 Unactivated itself It's not limited to this. I have a 680i mobo which does not have the offending SII controller - so no driver update. But I still had to go through the whole doing-a-phone-activation thing as this was the only thing that removed the problem. SS "Dale M.
