No System Restore Points

Hi Gurus out there

System Restore creates RPs on installation of some software, installation of
Windows Updates, and Manual RPs. I do not see any System Restore Points
created automatically. I understood that vista was supposed to create RPs
daily.

Any comments please?

Delboy

Re: No System Restore Points

Hey DB--

Any chance you are on a dual boot with XP? Because unless you use
workarounds like Bitlocker or 3rd party bootloaders, if you boot back to XP
you lose Vista RPs.

Also space can be a consideration.

You didn't give a lot of information. If you go to event viewer, and some
adverse event occurs involging System Restore, it's going to tell you why in
most cases.

Win Key +R>type "eventvwr.msc" and under Windows on left>Application and
System (probably System) ck. the events for any using SR as source.

If you had given more info or an error message (and I showed you where to
get that) I could have told you waht was going on. Since you haven't here
are links that might:

Hi Chad

Tks for suggestions

Vista Home Premium HDDs 151gig 113 free; 59gig 55 free
No Dual Boot; Nothing Fancy
System Properties/System Protection E: Disk unchecked Most recent RP None,
_OEMBP unchecked most recent RP None, HDD (C:) (System) checked most recent
RP 17/05/2007 00:22:05 (Manual:ManualRP)
Prior to that 16/05/2007 23:02:50 Install Windows Update.
Event Viewer Nothing mentions SR, although Windows-Dhcp-Client Error &
Dhcp-Client Warning & Groups of 3 SCPI Error
As I said, can create manual RPs, Windows Update RPs created and the last
auto software RP was when Java was installed as required by another piece of
software.
No apparent mention of SR in Task Scheduler
Any other info required?
Any other suggestions?
