Hi all,
I have the weirdest problem with my newly installed Windows Vista. Let's say
i have started a program before by going in Start -> All programs. Then the
icon will be in the start menu. If i try to click on that icon the software
doesn not start. Only if i go thru Start -> All programs.

A simmiliar problem is if i want to go into Device Manager. I usually use
Windows button + Pause/Break then press Device Manager. This doesn't work
anymore. If i go thru control panel it works fine.....again very weird.

Another problem i have is with Copy/ Paste. I insert a cd and want to copy
some files from that. Copy is avaialble in the menu but when i want to paste
the paste is grey in context menu and in manin menu on windows explorer. not
even the shortcut Ctrl + V works.

I have tried many windows but i never encountered anything close to this....

Any body has a idea what couses this ?

This sounds like a third-party shell extensions problem. Follow "Method 2" in this article.

Note that you can undo the action any time you want. Does not cause any harm in trying the method above.
