| Monitor Help:(Samsung SyncMaster 930B Monitor) Just started with Vista on an Athlon 5200+ 64 X2 w/SyncMaster 930B. Trying to setup monitor so that it's appearance looks like it did on Win2K (AMD 2100+) and Win98 (AMD 300?) for applications and topscreen. The current appearance is very, very awful. The monitor is a wide screen, 19" monitor. The icons are elliptical (longer than wide) and too large, the text looks bad, and everything takes up way too much space and ... I'm using the Samsung driver and my display settings are 1280 x 768. I've tried to adjust the text and do other things to make my web pages and Quicken look like they did under Win2k. No luck. I've tried to fiddle with display settings and everything else that I can think of or find. Can anyone tell me where to look or what to do so that I can adjust the display output? art |

| Re: Windows Vista Not as Stable as Windows XP Another excellent reference you have supplied.. the AMD guy is right behind Vista and states that with one or two more releases, drivers will be every bit as rock solid as XP.. | Re: Monitor Help:(Samsung SyncMaster 930B Monitor) Did you download the Samsung driver package ? It will more closely define your monitors capabilities than the default "Plug & Play Monitor" definition used. http://www.samsung.com/support/productsupport/download/FileView.aspx?cttfileid=252911&type=&typecode=300100&subtype=&subtypecode=300101&cmssubtypecode=&model=930B&filetype=DR&language= *Download doesn't list Vista support, but should work. Also note that many Flat panel monitors will not display correctly if not used in their "Native" resolution. | Re: AMD: Windows Vista Not as Stable as Windows XP People in positions that are dependant of a MS relationship cannot go out and say vista stinks even though it really does. That would cost them.... so they remain silent Its like a monarchy... You cant say the emperor has no cloths on... so you remain silent or even worse say the hypothetical clothes are nice! lol :-) "Mike Hall MVP" <mikehall@mvps.org> wrote in message news:uwqvkk%23kHHA.596@TK2MSFTNGP06.phx.gbl... > Whose whole truth can't he say? > > > "Spocks Buddy" <1111@11.11> wrote in message > news:uw8R5e%23kHHA.4960@TK2MSFTNGP02.phx.gbl... >> Yeah you are correct... but >> >> he cant say the whole truth there you know.... >> >> MS electric eyes are watching... whoever bashes may get squashed... :-) >> >> I bet there are a lot of people who would want to speak out about >> vista... but they dont because of fear. >> >> >> "Frank" <fb@nospamm.cmm> wrote in message >> news:%23IeouP3kHHA.4872@TK2MSFTNGP03.phx.gbl... >>> Spocks Buddy wrote: >>>> http://keznews.com/2839_AMD:_Windows_Vista_Not_as_Stable_as_Windows_XP >>> A very misleading headline.
