| Where is "Index" and where is "File" types?!!! I don't even own Vista and I've already come to despise it! In XP if you go to "Help and Support" one of the options on the tool bar was "Index" which would show an alphebetical listing of key word as well as allowing the use to type in the key word. I can't find this "Index" in Vista. In addition in XP if you go into "Explorer" click on "Folder Options" and then "File Types" you get a list of all the file extensions and what programs they open. I can't find this feature at all in Vista. Any help would be appreciated. Ted |

| Re: Where is "Index" and where is "File" types?!!! Ted Open Control Panel/Default Programs and select the "Associate a file type with a program" link. There is no index for Help and Support, because it is dynamic. The keywords and phrases are plain language, just type the information you are looking for and you will get a list of results. The first links are the most relevant, decending to the least relevant. -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User "Preacher Ted" <PreacherTed@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:FB4E089E-F844-430C-A5A1-EBE6F4FD50C8@microsoft.com...[color=blue] >I don't even own Vista and I've already come to despise it!
