| Wat is the difference between Built it Admin and Admin User Can anybody explain the difference between Built in Admin and Amin. My application behaves weirdly based on built in Admin User/ admin User. Eg., Admin User does not have rights to create shortcut in All users folder whereas Built in Admin has permission for the same. |

| RE: Wat is the difference between Built it Admin and Admin User In Windows Vista, the built in Admin User as you call it, the true admin is always an admin user. The admin user that you set up yourself in the User Accounts (the one that you can log on to from the welcome screen) is a standard user until it need to have admin permissions, then it can press Continue or Allow on the UAC pop up and it runs as a true administrator for that program during that time. You can run as a true admin, by right-clicking on what you want in the Start menu or some program or setup file; choose Run as Administrator. Enter the password or click Continue when the UAC pops up. And you can run the program. Does that help? | Re: Wat is the difference between Built it Admin and Admin User I always get a laugh when I see the titles of these articles, written by a so called "Industry Journalist". This information was published by other journalists back as far as 2005, but it's still "supersecret" to them. :) -- Ronnie Vernon Microsoft MVP Windows Shell/User "Farouk Dindar" <FaroukDindar@discussions.microsoft.com> wrote in message news:44AF3E19-C939-48DC-9A9E-137046AB8149@microsoft.com... > > > "santosh" wrote: > >> Can anybody explain the difference between Built in Admin and Amin. >> >> My application behaves weirdly based on built in Admin User/ admin User. >> >> Eg., Admin User does not have rights to create shortcut in All users >> folder >> whereas Built in Admin has permission for the same. > > I was CONFUSED about the admininstrator accounts until I read this :-) > > ................................................................ > Unlock the supersecret Administrator account > > http://www.computerworld.com/action/article.do?command=viewArticleBasic&articleId=9015738&pageNumber=2 > .............................................................. > |
