Hi all,

I have a Vista macine in a Win2k3 R2 domain, and any users can log on to it
properly with roaming profiles with the exception of myself. When I attempt
to do this, I receive the "profile failed to load properly" message. I have
disabled my roaming profile, but, even at this time, I receive the same
message and I am logged in with the temp profile.

This all began as a resut of a large profile that I removed for myself, just
to start over. I have taken the machine out of the domain, and even renamed
it, but all to no avail. My account is a domain admin, and the other account
that is domain admin has no problem at all. Here are the two logs
referencing the profile:

Log Name: Application
Source: Microsoft-Windows-User Profiles Service
Date: 12/18/2006 7:02:20 PM

Task Category: None
Level: Warning

Also, I have tried rebooting and the netsh command to no avail and mentioned
in this board. This is a problem that is haunting me!

This does not have any affect:
The command to disable the autotuninglevel is:

- Click start, All Programs
- Accessories
- Right-click Command Prompt
- Click Run As Administrator
- Type the following: netsh int tcp set global autotuninglevel=disabled
- Press enter
- Restart your computer (not really necessary)

Nor does using the Cat-6 instead of the wireless.

I had the same problem. After spending several frustating hours on the phone
with a Microsoft technician that barely spoke English (and paying $245). I
finally hung up and figured it out on my own.

I'm not sure of the exact cause but it has something to do with some group
policy settings and/or groups that I was a member of.

I took away all groups from my AD account except for a few that I absoltuely
had to have... ran a gpupdate /force and rebooted.

After it came back up, my account was now Local instead of Temporary.

I've been using it now for almost a week and haven't had a drop of problems.

Thank you for all of the help. I just reloaded Vista, even after I scanned
the registry, removed the machine from the domain, and followed the suggested
steps form this forum, the profile would not load. It wa scertainly a Vista
problem, not network problem, because when I set my profile not to roam, I
received the same profile errors.
