Yes, right click the sidebar select properties and uncheck 'Sidebar
is always ontop of other windows'

Other then checking to see if your Graphics Base Score has dropped for
some reason, I am fresh out of ideas. Good Luck!

I'm sure someone else here can come up with more ideas.

Re: Side Bar Backround went Opaque

Switch it to the left side and back again, it will reset. :)

Thanks

Re: Side Bar Backround went Opaque

Use Help and Support -- search for Aero
(glass is part of Aero -- transparent windows borders)

Re: Side Bar Backround went Opaque

Well I got it fixed BUT this is screwy! Some how I stumbled onto
System Performance Options and saw the Visual Effects tab. I clicked
on Custom then back to Let Widows choose. After I hit apply I saw the
visuals change. Then I started the Sidebar and the white strip was
gone and it was back to the way it looked when I first installed
Vista.

Now this leads me to another question how stable is Vista really. I
have had all my network setting changed by itself. I had turned on
Network Discovery and File sharing. Then one time the got turned
off. I had to go in and change the settings again. I have seen other
items I have set only to have the OS change them. Example - I have a
program the put an icon in the systray to detect when a camera or
other items have been attached to the computer. Three times I have
gone into MSCONFIG and disabled the item in the setup and it never
gets removed from the systray.
